Elkins offers a 2,000-square-foot shipping department and moves 100,000-plus parts per week without error, with complete package tracking and stocking (with release requirements) capabilities.

It is outfitted with three wash machines (two hot water and one solvent), three scales, three triple-stage forklifts and is capable of Kanban “just in time” delivery. It is bar code capable and operates on a first-in, first-out system. Elkins is located within seconds of Detroit Wayne County Metropolitan Airport in Romulus, MI, and minutes from several Detroit-area freeways.

Offering UPS, FedEx and LTL, Elkins’ shipping also offers the best in costumer-required packaging and labeling, while customized shipping is available on request.

As a service to its metropolitan Detroit-area clients, Elkins’ shipping has a free local delivery service that includes four large cargo vans.

What do I do if there are damaged or missing items upon delivery?
Since this is a step-by-step process, the first thing that you should do is contact Elkins shipping (Kerry Kaplan, k_kaplan@elkinsmachine.net) or quality control (Anca Stingu, a_stingu@elkinsmachine.net) for instructions. When it comes to damage in delivery, if there is damage to the package, or if merchandise is missing, please keep the original shipping carton and contact us immediately so we can issue a damage claim with the carrier. In addition, Elkins must issue a return merchandise authorization form (RMA). DO NOT return the merchandise without going through these steps, because it delays the replacement of the order or the issuance of a credit.

Does the Elkins’ shipping and receiving department have a loading dock?
Elkins DOES NOT have a loading dock. Our receiving maximum capacity is 4,000 pounds per pallet or bundle.

What are Elkins shipping hours?

How do I find out the status of a delivery?
You can contact the head of the shipping (Kerry Kaplan) via the e-mail at k_kaplan@elkinsmachine.net to get the most recent update on the status of any order.

Is there a way to find out if an order has already been shipped?
Yes, you can track your shipment with an ASN (Advanced Shipping Notice) through email or Quantum View (UPS).

Do you ship internationally?
Yes, Elkins ships throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico. It should be noted that international shipments are subject to import fees, duties and taxes (which are levied once a shipment reaches the destination country), in addition to the brokerage fees/custom clearance charges that may be imposed by the carrier. These charges must be borne by the recipient. Elkins Machine has no control over these charges and cannot predict what they might be. Normally these shipments ship via “Collect to the Customer.” If an international shipment is refused and/or returned, any taxes, duties, custom fees, brokerage fees, or shipping charges incurred from this return will be the responsibility of the customer.
